Breakthrough with the Forbidden Master Chapter 3 – Exclusive Maid

Forbidden Master

'Imperial Warrior'
It is both a title and a qualification in this country.

It is a qualification obtained by carefully selected elites when they graduate from the Academy, which grants them the ability to hold positions exclusive to Imperial Warriors.

A 'Hunter' is an individual who travels freely throughout the world, hunting magical beasts, exploring uncharted territories, and sometimes taking on requests from the people.

The 'Imperial Knights' are a group of military cadets who serve as senior military personnel in the Empire. Their primary responsibility is to maintain public order and, on occasion, undertake national-scale tasks as decreed by the Emperor.

The 'Imperial Mages' are individuals who dedicate their lives to the pursuit and research of magic.

There are various other positions as well, but all of them require the qualification of being an 'Imperial Warrior' in order to work in any of these organizations.

My father’s academic performance during his time at the Academy was poor, but he still managed to become an Imperial Knight, which  is a position that only the top elites can secure. And now he has risen to become the 'Imperial Warrior Commander', standing at the top of all warriors in the Empire.

He was originally a dropout and a commoner’s son, but he worked hard, became stronger, and, at times, saved the country. Eventually, he even saved the world.

He defeated the Great Demon King, who was not only a god among the demons but had also plotted to conquer the world.

The story of my father, who rose from a commoner to a hero, has been praised, appreciated, and revered by people all over the world, and he is now called the 'Hero'.

However, that is just my father’s story and has nothing to do with me, his son.
In fact, I have inherited nothing from my father except for his blood.

Even though the war against the Great Demon King has ended and the world has become peaceful, my father’s responsibilities as the Emperor’s right-hand are immense, leaving him with no time to spare for his son.
That’s why I have never learned anything from my father.

Nevertheless, I am expected to achieve results that will convince those around me that I am indeed my father’s son.
And, despite achieving better results than my father did at my age, I find myself in this situation.
Really…… I can’t accept this.

"I’m home…"

In the end, unable to calm my annoyance, I returned to the mansion even though it was still early afternoon.
As I passed through the spacious garden, I noticed a maid cleaning the courtyard in front of the mansion.
She caught sight of me, and for a brief moment, her eyes widened in surprise before quickly showing a mischievous smile.

"Welcome home, Young Master. I’m aware that classes are still in session at the Academy, so please turn right around and go back quickly."

Although that was not the proper way to speak to me as her master, that is how this maid usually talked.

"Don’t worry, ‘Sadis’. I left early due to mental distress."
"Oh my, as usual, you have the mental fortitude of a slime. I believe today was the announcement of the written exam results as well as the mock battles… Did you lose to the Princess?"
"………"
"As expected, it was too much for you right, wimpy Young Master"

The maid, Sadis, wore a wicked smile as she delivered a merciless remark.
She was a war orphan and had been residing in this mansion since before my birth. We were raised as siblings, and now she serves as my exclusive maid.
With her beautiful silver hair tied up neatly, she wears a maid uniform that is meant to be pure and modest. However, somehow her skirt is short and provocative, and her alluring figure and voluptuous breasts always leave me unsettled.
At 19 years old, she feels more like a mean older sister to me than a mere maid.
And well, she happens to be my first love – the one with whom I dreamt of engaging in naughty acts someday.
She’s not my fiancée. But I intend to make her my future wife.

"It’s not a big deal. The exams are over and all that’s left is the graduation match. It doesn’t matter what kind of grades I get now, my evaluation won’t suffer at this point."
"Certainly, as the runner-up, Young Master is free to choose his career path after graduation… though it seems like it’s already certain that the Young Master will advance to become an Imperial Knight."
"Right? If that’s the case, then no one will complain… it’s what my father, the Hero, and everyone else expects anyway, right?"
"Oh my, you’re more sulky than usual today, Young Master. Did you not only lose to the Princess… but also met with the Master?"
"………"
"Hit the nail on the head again… you’re too easy to read, thin-skinned Young Master."

Did she see that?! How does she know!? But also, my skin… How did she come to know about that too! No, I guess she would know since she helps me wash my body in the bath sometimes!

"Whatever, damn it. It’s annoying how everyone just expects me to be like my dad, always talking about the 'Son of the Hero'… but really, what’s the point of being a warrior in an era when the Great Demon King is dead, and there are no more wars with the Demon Clan or with any other countries? Even if I were to become a top-ranked warrior, and be acknowledged as the son of the Hero, what chance would I have to prove myself? It’s better to settle for second place."

There’s no point in complaining about such things to Sadis, who is just a maid. However, there are times when I become upset with her unnecessary harsh remarks, and I occasionally get emotional and end up lashing out as well.
And it’s always at times like this that Sadis puts on a serious expression….

"Young Master Earth…"

"……"

"It’s true that a lot of unreasonable expectations have been placed on the Young Master… However, as a mere maid, I cannot share the burden with you. But the people around you, including the Master and myself… cannot help but have expectations from the Young Master."

"Sadis…"

"It is well-known that the hero ‘Heero’, who overthrew the Great Demon King, was a dropout in his childhood… Unlike you, Young Master, who has amassed excellent results in the Academy at this point in your life. That’s why, everyone can’t help but wonder how much will the already excellent Young Master Earth grow, and what kind of existence will he become… Their hopes… are akin to warm-hearted dreams. You are such a presence… It’s truly selfish, but I really want you to understand that."

Sadis spoke to me in a gentle and firm tone, bowing her head as she did so.
This is kind of sly.
When should we have our wedding?

"…But you know… once in a while, I want a reward besides pep talk."

I could only respond like that while facing away in embarrassment.

"Reward, you say? Do you realize how much your monthly allowance exceeds the monthly income of the average commoner? You can buy anything you want, can’t you?"
"No, I don’t mean it in that sense…"
"Ah, but you couldn’t buy any ero-books or a prostitute, right? And also… A
WOMAN’SHEART ♪."
"Nu…"
"And unfortunately, teaching the Young Master about romance is not included in my job description, so I can’t do it even if you beg me
♪!."

There was a time when I was still young, and I pleaded Sadis to be my 'bride', but she rejected my request. Since then, she has been aware of my feelings and desires, yet she always shuts me down like this.
To be honest, until recently, I thought that I could marry Sadis if I became a bit more mature. But lately, I find it difficult to imagine Sadis marrying me, no matter how hard I try. This thought has been incredibly depressing for me, aside from my father-related issues.
Then, seeing my obvious disappointment, Sadis lets out a sigh before making a proposal to me.

"Ah right! I can’t guarantee that it will motivate the Young Master, but… today, is the annual cleaning of the Sealed Chamber. Would you want to join me?"
"Sealed? Ah…… my father’s sword…"
"Yeah, that’s right. It’s the legendary sword that destroyed the Great Demon King. It was so powerful that your father sealed it in the chamber by piercing it into the pedestal. If you were to see it, wouldn’t it raise your motivation a little, Young Master?"
"…Not really~… I was happy to see it when I was a kid, but now… even if I were to see my father’s sword~… unless maybe if he were to give it to me, but otherwise…"

I wasn’t particularly enthusiastic about Sadis’ proposal.
Once a year, the lock on the Sealed Chamber inside the mansion is released.
Father’s sword was sealed inside that chamber. It was said to be a mythical sword, a truly legendary sword.

"Ah, don’t get any strange ideas~ Even if you were thinking of taking the sword to become stronger, it’s only the Master who can pull the sword out of the pedestal anyway."
"I know that."

The sword that I had always believed would be passed down to me someday.
However, as someone who was fed up by the title of being the 'Son of the Hero', I was unsure if it would really get me motivated.

That is… until I met 'that person'.
